Ani The Mesh's Interview

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself? your blog , and your aspirations !

I write fiction on Story in pieces and mostly on social issues and other stuff on Towers and Shadows.
I will tell you about my aspirations by narrating a true story. Its actually a conversation which happened between my wife (W) and myself (M) about a year ago.
W: What do you want to become in your life, I mean in the long term?
M: Have you heard of Naman Singh?
W: No.
M: Ruchit Shrivastava?
W: No.
M: Phani Manukonda?
W (irritated): No, who are these people and what have they to do with my question.
M: Just have a little patience and answer me. Have you heard of Subhash Chandra Bose, Abdul Kalam and Ratan Tata?
W: Yeah, I know all of them.
M: This is what I want to become.
2. How you first got involved in with blogging?
Answer : "It was just by chance. I was going through a terrible phase of my life and was missing my Maa. I had this fear of losing her and this is I suddenly wrote something about it. I really don't remember how and why I registered a blog on blogger and posted it there."
3. What do you find most challenging about blogging about your topic?
Answer : "Right now, lack of time. "
4. Tell me about some of the people you've met while working on your blog?
Answer : Hemal Shah from Indianomics, Roshan (The Sorcerer), Rennie and Vineet from Indiblogger. In fact, there are many. I have this colleague of mine who is also on Indiblogger and we came to know about it after we met as colleagues. And yes, Revathi, my friend and ex-colleague who introduced me to Indiblogger.
5. How would (someone) describe your blogging style?
Answer : Straight forward and conversational.
6. What do you do when you aren't working on your blog?
Answer : Getting bashed by my boss and when I am not doing that also I may be found playing guitar, listening to songs, reading books or simply sleeping. Yes, I love sleeping :)
7 .Are you a full time blogger? How did you get into blogging and why?
Answer : I am a part-time blogger. I think second part of the question is a repeat of question#2.
8. What networking do you do that you feel helps your blogging business?
Answer : Obviously social networking sites, blogging platforms and I also believe in words of mouth.
9. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts and they only have one blog.
Answer : I have this habit of observing things deeply which serve as a raw material for my posts.
10. Whats your strategy with your blog in general?
Answer : Keep blogging, keep original blogging.
11. Do you think Pagerank plays a vital role in a blog's life?
Answer : No.
12. What would you prioritize? Content? SEO? Traffic? Readers?
Answer : Content
13. What's the best thing a blogger can give to his readers?
Answer : Feeling of belongingness through his words.
14. A lot of people are interested in blogging for the money earning potential. What are some tips for Answer : people interesting in making money from blogging? What are some realistic expectations in regards to what can be made?
I blog for myself and my readers, so can't really comment about it.
15. What motivates you most in life ?
Answer : My failures and belief in God.
16. What has been your strategy for creating visibility to yourself and your blog?
Answer : Ofcourse good and original content, networking with fellow bloggers, marketing on Social network sites and then commenting on similar blogs. Last one helps a lot, believe me.
17 What was the most challenging moment in your blog content development process and why?
Answer : Challenge is not over yet. There is this post which is lying unpublished for last one year. I'm unable to think how to conclude it. Perhaps because it's on a controvertial topic.
18. Everyone has a favorite/least favorite post. Name yours and why?
Answer : Sir Arthor Cannon Doyle.
19. What's your take on sponsored reviews?
Answer : Sucks
20. Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
Answer : Restless (My World My Perception), her posts on women issues are so honest and touching that I am tempted to read them the moment she posts. Another author is Piyush (Mera-Panna). He is an awesome poet.
21. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?
Answer : Most important thing is reading. If you don't read, you can't write. Next, write for yourself and you'll automatically loved by your readers.
22. your connection with Indi and the experience ?
Answer : As I said earlier, I was introduced to Indiblogger by my friend Revathy. And believe me, it has been a wonderful experience. I have met so many wonderful bloggers and many of them are close friends now. Pramod, Sorcerer, Hemal, Stephen, Gayathri, Pooja, Vinay: we keep talking on phone and chatting on FB and GTalk. List is bigger and I have missed many names here.
One more thing, I am a big fan of Rennie's management and enterpreneur skills. There are few things to learn from him, his patience and art of speaking. He knows well when and what to speak and when and what not to speak.

Answer : I have read some of your posts and they feel as if straight from the heart. I am sure you'll go miles if you keep blogging this way. All the best!
