The Unfurled life Review

Hello , As a request on the Get your Blog Review Page I am going to review harshal's blog who writes a lively blog called life unfurled. Well I went through blog and did a lot of a reading in the past couple of months. The content is different, your language is ok and you have the necessary fluency in imparting the ideas. Following are the few points I would like to underline.

1.Content :Let me start with the only escape what a beautifully written post. You have described the feelings with the minutest details as the first comment said from ritwik.I have read the other two articles you have submitted , I can only say that you also dont have a habit of proof reading your posts like me , But I guess you have to start doing that to improve. The only escape has shown the talent you have in your writings so I guess its time you take it more seriously and post some masterpiece soon.

2.Uniqueness: The site is ok to start with with few tabs and few widgets.I would suggest make it more unique so that the readers are attracted to it.But as it goes if the content is string even the paper book look will do.So i guess the uniqueness from your blog can only come from the content , So I will say work on your strengths and show us all what you can write.I would rate it as six out of ten.

3.ActivityYou have been quite active in replying to the comments and posting new posts on the site as well as linking on the social networking plugins as well. This makes the reader to look forward to your new replies and posts.Way to go dear its a great sign.

4.Appearance:The appearance is simple, you have kept the basic blogger interface which is ok.You might want to Add a personalized logo and a personalized background picture but that's up to you only.I would rate the appearance as five out of ten.

5.Navigation:Not more than three tabs at the top and a simple blogger interface is what you are carrying so I guess , Its ok to have it when you are only concentrating on the content,Keep writing dude you have a long way to go.
Rest is all great! You have done quite an ok job with the posts , I would only say that keep writing ,There is only one room which have space and that's the room for improvement

Desire v/s Destiny

THE MYTH AND THE MYTHOLOGY – Desire v/s Destiny.

Destiny Ignites Desires or the vice versa.Another never ending discussion, what is more powerful, Desires or Destiny , who wins, often takes me to the stories of two women in mythology- Gauthami and Savitri. Not many know about Gauthami but I am sure each one of you must have heard the story of Savitri and Satyavan. So before we begin the discussion about destiny and desire let me take you to the era of Mahabharata.

Gauthami, a sage, a true believer in destiny, lived at the time of the epic war. Once her son went to the jungle and there he was bitten by a snake. When she heard the news she ran for him but it was too late. She was mourning over the body of her son, when a hunter, Arjunaka, brought the snake tied in a rope. “Oh, great lady, here is the demon who killed your son. You must kill him and take the revenge of you son’s death.”

“Oh great hunter, I am very obliged at your concern over my son’s death, but it was his destiny. I must not take any revenge. Let him go free. Killing him, taking his life, will not bring back my child.”That’s what she had to say.And suddenly the snake joined the conversation “I only perform the task I am assigned to by Mrityu. I am merely an instrument in his hands.”As the hunter and the snake argued about who is to blame for the child’s death, Mrityu joined the discussion,“neither the snake nor I am to be blamed for the boy’s death but fate, or what we call kala- ‘the time’. Whatever exists ; exists through kala. So, it is to be blamed.”As the argument continued kala joined in, “Oh hunter, neither of us are to be blamed. Action drives us to it. As the potter shapes out of a lump of clay everything he desires, so a man attains his destiny by the karma he does. A man’s work is his destiny.”And the discussion was settled. Even Arjunaka agreed that a destiny is shaped by a man’s deed.

And now let me tell you a story of desire, the legend of savitri. A lady who married a peasant, satyavan, knowing he has just one more year to live. She loved him nurtured him, and worshipped him. She followed him everywhere. So, when yama came to take satyavan’s life, she argued to yama. When he did not budge she followed him persistently. Irritated, Yama asked her what she wants, and she said she desires her husband, so she came to request him to bring her husband back to life. “Impossible”, said yama. But she persisted; they talked about wisdom and dharma. Finally when yama was impressed he promised to grant her three wishes, except for the life of Satyavan.

“I want eyesight and the restoration of kingdom for my father-in-law”

“Tathaastu”, said Yamaraj

“I want a hundred sons for my parents”

“Tathaastu”

“I want to be the mother of a hundred sons of Satyavan”

“Tathaastu”

And yamaraj started for her destination, but Savitri still followed him.

“What is it now Savitri?” asked yama, irritated.

“Oh lord, my third wish will remain unfulfilled if you don’t grant life to my husband. How can I mother a hundred child of Satyavan if he is dead”.To this Yama smiled at the intelligence of the woman and granted her Satyavan’s life. She did prove that desire could be stronger than destiny with a will power of that kind. Isn’t it?

Author’s Note; In the war between desires and destiny, one would win and the other would lose, but none could take away what I’d learnt in the process. Desires and Destiny are just the results of your Karma, your deeds, your actions or whatever you like to call it. As the English proverb goes As you sow , so shall you reap.

PS : This is a guest post on DVD ,as I have recently made the new page about DVD accepting the Guest Posts. This post is written by Tanaya Nath who blogs here.About her I can only say that she is an artist ,I have recently started reading her work and It has been just awesome. This post was about the theme of the blog but she has taken the theme of desire v/s destiny to an entirely new level.I am so impressed by this that now I have become of a fan of tanaya. Thanks a lot tanaya for the wonderful take on the theme.

The Paperless Review

Hello , As a request on the Get your Blog Review Page I am going to review the site thepaperless.in. Well I went through the and did a lot of a reading in the past month. The content is good, your language is nice and you have the necessary fluency in imparting the news. Following are the few points I would like to underline.
  • 1.Content :The content is thoughtful as well as thought provoking as we can see from the Google Nexus post. The content is nice but there is always some catch.Actually, I have been analyzing what type of posts gets the most readership on the blog and what are the ones who generate more revenue. I noticed that programming related articles are the most ignored ones and people prefer to go to establish niche programming websites/forums. Google search too proves it because these posts were never in good ranking. But as a news article the posts are just fine.
  • 2.Uniqueness: The website is quite unique in itself ,The Home page will be liked my most of the audience. The background image tells you what the site is going to offer so it works that way and also its good to include the best view tab at the top.I will probably rate the uniqueness 6 out of ten.
  • 3.ActivityYou have been quite active in your posts as well as linking on the social networking plugins as well. This makes the reader to look forward to your new replies and posts. But I see some comments have not been even acknowledged so I guess you have to work on that.
  • 4.Appearance:The appearance of the site is awesome to say the least. The website has great color contrast ratio which goes very well with almost ninety percent readers. The news site have to give a simple view when it comes to news articles which you have provided. But The catch is the space which you have wasted and is quite irritating. That space is between the past 50 posts and the current post. That is majorly because of the visitors widget. The visitors widget gets longer and the space to the left of it is vacant which is quite not the way.You may want to look into a little bit of adjustment on that.
  • 5.Navigation:The navigation is quite smooth and if people want to know about the site they can do it easily. Both the Tabs and the pages at the top most position serves their purpose with ease. The reader can smoothly go to all the pages and can get a glimpse of what the site has to offer.

Rest is all great! You have done a good job with the articles ,The pictures which have been used are nicely aligned , I hope you are taking care of the copyrights.Keep up the site and spirits , The site has a bright future.

The Nest

Sunday mornings are always blissful...instead of running around like crazy she can enjoy her cup of steaming coffee at her terrace before she starts her day...Everything looked fresh and green, dipped in the rain showers from last night. A gush of cold wind blew her hair...and her eyes moved up to the branches of huge ken the kadamba tree that stood at the corner just in time to see a set of sparrows trying to rebuild their nest...The one with bright dark lines, the male stood arranging as the female in the faded colour flew in with some tweaks in her beak...then the male flew out....And how aptly it suits to the household of all the species, both male and female have their respective roles to play...but one has always to be the stronger to pull it off all the way.

Hers was an arranged marriage. Chandrashekhar was every inch his namesake, the most handsome epic god ever in indian myth, Lord shiva. She felt lucky. He was soft spoken, and gentle. While their marriage took place he had been working in some MNC and was earning good. He allowed her to work if she wants and gave her all the freedom to run the household. But it was no sooner than the few months that the facade came to an end. He left his job, “I am not meant for things like this, I can’t do it” he will always say for a reason but never told anyone what he is meant for. She didn't lose her heart, like a good companion she always inspired him, trying to reason him. And he would understand. He would join some job, but after few months he would find a reason to quit again. Their resource began to dwindle...she had no idea what to do. He was getting more agitated and annoyed. He would fight over nothing. She don’t even remember when was the last time she heard him talking softly like the man she married. She was losing all her hopes. She talked to her mother about it. All she would say is to hold on but never told her how. She was slipping into depression. Her work was suffering. She tried to overload herself with work in hopes of earning a little extra and to avoid any conversation with her husband...but her article writing didn't pay her much. She wanted to walk out of her marriage but all her social obligations made her equally unsure. It was one of the sundays when she found solution to all her problems. They had an argument, or to be correct he yelled at her over nothing and stormed out of house. She was upset and didn't want to cry. So she decided to clean up the store that had been locked for ages. She found cartons full of handwritten papers...and handwriting over it told her it was her husband’s. she went through some and found it were some poetry and stories written by him. She also found a manuscript of a novel she guessed he had been working on. She took them all with her and started reading. It was then that she found what her husband is best suited for. They were magnificent...so breathtakingly engaging. She had been unable to stop herself and it was then that the thunder struck. She knew few publishers from her work. She decided she is going to have to find a way..one last attempt...and this time she was sure it will work. She took his work to the publishers...and in no time she had several of them interested in his work. One evening she talked to him about this...briefed her from her finding his writings and getting in touch with publishers. He was obviously surprised.

“You don’t mind me being a writer?”

“Of course not, in fact I am proud that you write so well...not many can. and i am so sure you are going to be a big name one day, my celebrity husband” she sincerely said with a smile.

He hugged her without inhibitions for the first time since their marriage,” I am going to love you for this. you are the best wife ever.” Said he with a childlike enthusiasm, that made all her doubts vanish into thin air if she had any.And now she is a wife to a renowned writer. He was sincere in both the things- his work and his love for her. He would always mention her in all his writings and speeches giving her all the credits to whatever he is today. Her marriage was now a happy marriage in true sense.

They are planning to have kids now.She felt him standing at her back and he put his arms around her nuzzling her neck like a lover he had become to her. She flushed, put her empty mug on railing and turned to hug him just in turn to see the two sparrows necking after they rebuild their nest. She felt happy that she had too been able to save her nest.

PS : This is a guest post on DVD ,as I have recently made the new page about DVD accepting the Guest Posts. This post is written by Tanaya Nath who blogs here.About her I can only say that she is an artist ,I have recently started reading her work and It has been just awesome.
